Social media is being used more and more, both by consumers, as a great personal networking tool, as well as, by companies, looking to reach out to their target audience. And with this new media, companies are also seeing a way to make great quality live streaming work in this environment. February saw two such events. Back in December, Groovy Gecko handled the live webcasting into Facebook for the official launch of the Nike T90 Laser III. Based on the overwhelming success of this stream, Nike decided to run another live webcast, on 24th February, this time featuring football superstar, Ronaldo. Also, on 11th February, Groovy Gecko handled a live webcast into MySpace of a gig with Family Force 5, Christian crunk rock group from Atlanta. Craig Moehl, CEO, Groovy Gecko, commented: “Being truly social is about combining the best bits of technology for effortless and natural interactions. We combine a great quality video stream with the ever-popular social media environment to help social media sites to provide a compelling entertainment experience, build branding affinity and site-stickiness.” |
