Groovy Gecko today announced that it hosted a live interactive webcast for book publishers, Puffin. The webcast, which featured a twenty-minute talk by cult children’s author, Rick Riordan, was watched by audiences across the world. Rick Riordan is the much-loved author of the Percy Jackson series of children’s books. Schools across the country used the microsite, setup by Groovy Gecko, to register ahead of the webcast and encouraged the pupils to submit questions, both prior to, and during, the event itself. “We were delighted with the success of the event. Pupils across the country (and indeed worldwide) were able to watch and interact with the live webcast,” commented Tania Vian-Smith, Head of Publicity for Puffin Books. “Thanks to Groovy Gecko’s efforts, we could achieve great quality streams for individual fans watching on computer screens, as well as whole classes using projectors and plasmas. We are always looking for ways to engage directly with our readers, and this webcast was an excellent way of achieving that.”
Craig Moehl, CEO, Groovy Gecko, commented: “We were delighted to be working with Puffin on this project. Rick Riordan is an extremely popular children’s author and his popularity coupled with Puffin’s marketing efforts led to a huge audience watching and interacting with the webcast.” Rick Riordan Virtually Live was watched by an eager audience of individuals and school groups.
