Screen Media Ventures has announced the test launch of its new streaming video service Popcornflix.
A beta version of the application is presently available for users, with the developers testing the software to ensure it is up to scratch ahead of a full launch later this year. In total, Popcornflix will offer users the chance to download and view up to 1,500 movie titles, including the latest Hollywood blockbusters. However, this primary launch includes just 204 films for users, although the company is planning to add three to four additional titles per day over the coming months. Elsewhere, Orb Networks recently announced the launch of its own streaming video offering for PS3 users. Orb BR will give access to streaming TV and on-demand content and is now available for a monthly fee from the company. The system does not require the installation of any new software, meaning users can simply plug in and watch their favourite video content via their PS3 consoles. Posted by Kevin Smith ![]() |
