Individuals who enjoy watching online streaming video content may be pleased to learn that Apple's iTunes is set to launch a new high-definition (HD) service.
According to AppleInsider, the new iTunes HD+ service will bring 1080p HD video to iTunes users for the first time. The development of a new A5 chip that is currently in use in the iPad 2 could be a game-changer for Apple's HD TV launch, as the chip has the processing power to ensure streaming of HD content is as smooth and seamless as regular content. Streaming audio enthusiasts might also be interested to learn that Virgin Media has completed work on the initial phases of a deal with Spotify, with the company set to offer up to 13 million tracks to UK consumers.
