AOL has announced the launch of a new application that allows users to receive HD streaming video content direct to their TVs and set-top boxes.
The new AOL HD product will be available for Yahoo Connected TV, Roku, DivX TV and Boxee users, with content currently available in three categories - entertainment, technology and home. It hopes to reach an audience of more than ten million users and will offer streaming audio services via the AOL Music full CD Listening Party, which will provide free previews of complete albums. "There has been explosive growth in the number of users who watch and interact with internet content on their televisions," said Rob DelaCruz, general manager for AOL HD. AOL HD will be offering new channels, including casual games, to the product and plans to expand to other connected platforms over the coming months. Posted by Thomas Price ![]() |
