Indie folk band Beirut have made their new album The Rip Tide available for streaming audio listeners online.
NME reports the band have placed the entirety of the album online and made it free to listen to for fans until August 29th, when the album will be officially released. Hailing from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Beirut formed in 2006 and this latest album is their fourth studio release. Their songs encompass a unique take on Eastern European and Balkan folk sounds, coupled with Western pop, creating a fusion of American mainstream with indie rock culture and world music. Previous albums by the band have been entitled Gulag Orkestar, The Flying Club Cup and March of the Zapotec - released in May 2006, October 2007 and February 2009 respectively. Beirut will be playing four live gigs in the UK over the coming months, including performances at the Manchester Academy and London's Brixton Academy in September. Posted by Thomas Price ![]() |
