The rumoured launch of Apple's new Replay streaming video service could be further away than was previously believed, it has been revealed.
According to CNET News, the company's plans to launch a service that enables iTunes users to have access to streaming movie content has hit a stumbling block as agreements are yet to be signed between Apple and four of the six biggest movie producers in Hollywood. A source close to the deal told the news provider that the rumours surrounding a possible launch of Replay in the coming months is premature at best, with the cloud agreements for streaming content still in early stages of discussion. The firm is also embarking on a new streaming video venture in partnership with Vimeo, with the launch of a new app for its Apple TV set-top boxes. It will allow users to browse online content free of charge, as well as effectively expanding the library of content for users in their living rooms. Posted by Thomas Price ![]() |
