| ComScore gives Google first prize for streaming video |

Google has continued its hold on the streaming video sector, according to the latest ComScore rankings.
The July edition of the organisation's monthly report has placed the search engine as number one in terms of online video views, with 158.1 million unique viewers using the site in the US alone. Of these individuals, users logged 353.7 minutes of viewing on average. Overall, Google had more than twice as many monthly viewers and more minutes on average per viewer than its leading rivals. In second place was Vevo with 62.1 million viewers averaging 66 minutes each, while Facebook achieved bronze position with 51.4 million unique users. Streaming audio is also proving popular in the US at present following the launch of Spotify in the country, with more than 1.4 million users already signed up to the online music provider.
