Channel 4's video on-demand (VOD) service continued to grow in September, according to new figures from the broadcaster.
A total of 33 million long form views were requested across all platforms on 4oD during the month, up from 31 million in the previous month. Long form VOD views for the year to date totalled 308 million at the end of September, according to Channel 4's monthly report on 4oD viewing. This represents year-on-year growth of 19.3 per cent. The data also showed that 4oD on Channel4.com - the main 4oD platform - attracted 3.9 million average monthly unique viewers, an increase of 300,000 on the monthly total for August. Teenage soap Hollyoaks was revealed as the most popular series among users of the service with nearly 2.3 million views, followed by The Inbetweeners and Shameless. Earlier this month, Channel 4 signed a deal with Microsoft to make 4oD available on Xbox Live, the online platform for the Xbox 360 games console. The 4oD app will be made available to Xbox 360 gold subscribers in the lead-up to Christmas. Posted by Emma Johnson ![]() |
