LOVEFiLM has agreed a new content distribution deal with Sony Pictures Television that will bring new TV shows and films to its streaming service.
The multi-year content deal will provide exclusive streaming access to Sony Pictures titles during the second subscription pay TV window, plus catalogue titles and TV series from June 2012 onwards. It will cover recent films such as Salt and The Social Network as well as TV shows including Transformers and The Spectacular Spider-Man, while forthcoming titles like Arthur Christmas will also be included. This follows a number of recently announced LOVEFiLM streaming partnerships with the likes of Warner Bros, StudioCanal, Disney and Lionsgate. Simon Calver, chief executive of LOVEFiLM, said: "The number of recent high-profile deals we have secured means we are able to keep expanding the service." This comes after the company announced the introduction of a new streaming-only package earlier this month, priced initially at £4.99 monthly. Posted by Emma Johnson ![]() |
