Online newspaper the Huffington Post has revealed further details about its plans to launch an innovative streaming news network in summer 2012.
The HuffPost Streaming Network is set to be introduced for computers, smartphones, tablets and internet TVs later this year and will initially offer 12 hours of live original programming each day, for five days each week. This will rise 16 hours a day by the end of 2013, with newspaper founder Arianna Huffington stating that the network's content will be designed to be "free-flowing ... spontaneous and interactive". Live segments of no fixed length will be produced by the Huffington Post editorial team and will air in a manner that is unconstrained by regular schedules, offering users an easy-to-browse and engaging service. Ms Huffington said: "People aren't interested in being talked at anymore - they want to be part of the conversation." The Huffington Post made its debut in the UK last year, shortly after its takeover by AOL. Posted by Emma Johnson ![]() |
