Reports are emerging that Disney are in talks with YouTube over a possible video streaming deal for content. If the speculation proves correct, it is possible that viewers could watch Disney productions on-demand as they if hosted on the video sharing site. Programmes from two Disney channels ESPN and ABC could soon be available on Google-owned YouTube. According to reports, Disney would be allowed to sell advertising under the terms of the deal, with revenue being shared with Google. Hollywood Reporter says that the audio and video "will be short-form only, each piece running five minutes long or less, and will include behind-the-scenes action from ABC shows, interviews with celebrities, sneak-peaks of upcoming episodes and recaps of episodes already aired". The news follows the revelation that Disney is also in talk with video streaming service Hulu over a similar deal, with owners NBC Universal and News Corp in line for a portion of revenues. ![]() |
