The founder of a soon-to-be-launched online gaming service which will allow TV viewers to play top titles via streamed media has revealed his confidence that the idea will work. Steve Perlman is the man behind OnLive, the groundbreaking gaming service which delivers through video streaming. With OnLive set to launch before the end of the year, Mr Perlman has given the service's critics something to chew on with his recent comments to BBC News, insisting that popular games will become available. "We have nine of the largest game publishers in world signed up," he disclosed. "They have spent several years in some cases actually going and reviewing our technology before allowing us to associate with their company names and allowing us to have access to their first-tier franchises." OnLive will be delivered straight to an internet-enabled PC or via a modem to a television, with viewers able to receive video and audio of games through video streaming. ![]() |
