| Online video streaming audience grows |

The online video viewing audience in the UK has grown, new research has indicated. According to the latest figures from the comScore Video Metrix service, the amount of people in the country taking advantage of video and audio over the internet via streaming media has risen by ten per cent. That means that there are now a total of 29.6 million unique viewers aged 15 and older enjoying video streaming in Britain. In terms of which websites are luring in video streaming watchers, Google sites, including YouTube, scored the highest number with 23.7 million viewers, up 14 per cent from two years ago. In a distant second place were web addresses run by the BBC, which attracted 6.8 million viewers to watch video streaming content. The BBC was followed by sites run by IT giant Microsoft, which drew in 4.3 million viewers. Next was social media phenomenon Facebook, which was watched by 3.6 million Brits and then Yahoo sites with three million. ![]() |
