Mobile phone operator T-Mobile has teamed up with film company Paramount to develop a new service that allows users to watch streaming films on their mobile handsets. The service will allow film lovers to receive video on demand with the ability to pause and resume content, reports New Media Age. T-Mobile said the new partnership with Paramount aims to build on the "significant growth in long-form video" with its existing video on demand service, which is operated in conjunction with platform provider Saffron Digital. Speaking to New Media Age, James Rowe, head of content at T-Mobile, said: "As an operator, we can offer access to movies via streaming and online, which makes us a unique user proposition: access anywhere and anytime." T-Mobile also aims to launch a new free short-form video service which will be promoted alongside the operator's video on demand service. The mobile company recently unveiled its new Sidekick 2009 model which features a new music player that supports audio and video streaming. ![]() |
