Technology publication and events firm GigaOM has entered into a partnership with Livestream, as part of which the company will broadcast streaming videos of its conferences. Using Livestream's web video service, GigaOM will make its conferences available to viewers in real time starting with Structure 09, which is scheduled to take place in San Francisco on June 25th. GigaOM will make use of Livestream Procaster for 3D effects, encoding and showing web-based images to live audiences. The streaming partner deal also includes GigaOM's Mobilize, NewTeeVee Live and GreenNet conferences, which are set to be held between September and March 2010. "We chose Livestream because they have all the tools and the necessary services to provide the highest quality streaming," said Surj Patel, vice president of development at GigaOM. New York-based Livestream recently announced the launch of a premium service, after unveiling its open beta service back in 2007. |
