Mobile television should be made flexible enough to suit consumers' various viewing patterns, it has been suggested. According to Techwatch.co.uk, mobile TV should be adapted to different viewing routines and programmes should be made fully available without being made liable to piracy. Brian Turner, executive editor at Techwatch.co.uk pointed out that many TV broadcasters are still limiting access to their content due to worries about copyright theft and loss of revenue. "The trend has been slowly but surely changing over recent years, but it remains to be seen how much mainstream content will work for mobile viewing," he said. "Additionally, few broadcasters are producing short burst, low resolution work specifically for the mobile format, except to market larger format media." A recent survey conducted by Deloitte and YouGov on behalf of the Media Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival found that younger web users are more likely than their older counterparts to watch TV over the internet. ![]() |
