Microsoft's MSN video player attracted almost 170,000 views in its first 11 days, according to new figures. The data, revealed by the Guardian, shows that the MSN video player earned 167,487 views between August 3rd and 14th. In addition, 154,481 accounts were opened to view the player's content, which includes television programmes such as Peepshow and How to Look Good Naked. Programmes for the site have been drawn from BBC Worldwide and All3Media, boosting the player's catalogue. Ashley Highfield, managing director of consumer and online at Microsoft UK, told the Guardian that the figures spell good news for the player's future. "We are very happy with the first numbers - it is a very encouraging start," he commented. The most highly-rated shows on the player so far include Derren Brown: Trick of the Mind, The Young Ones, That Mitchell and Webb Look. The Telegraph recently reported that BBC Worldwide, Channel 4 and ITV have signed a deal with Arqiva, under which the company will receive the technology behind Project Kangaroo. ![]() |
