Streaming videos can help improve the success of email marketing campaigns, an expert has said. John Cruz, founder of ImageMind Software, pointed out that videos can have a "powerful" effect on marketing campaigns and help firms increase response levels. He stressed that ordinary text-based emails are no longer having the effect they used to, so it is now time for marketers to make use of rich media emails with professional HTML templates, extensive reporting features and video content. "The next logical progression for online marketing is streaming video email campaigns sent directly to targeted communities," Mr Cruz said. He maintained that video campaigns can help inspire emotional responses, which is what encourages people to make significant business or purchasing decisions. Shaun Bailey, chair of the Direct Marketing Association's Agencies Council, recently said that using online streaming videos in direct marketing campaigns can open up a range of "fantastic opportunities" and deliver accountable results.
