A charity is harnessing the power of online streaming videos to boost its operations. The Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) has released a video of trooper Stephen Shine, who has benefited from the charity's help after being injured in a roadside bomb while serving in Iraq. In the video, the ABF shows how Mr Shine's quality of life has been improved thanks to the charity's services. The organisation also uses the video to highlight the need for more donations, which can be used to purchase items such as easy-access showers for injured servicemen and women. Annabelle Fuller, media relations manager, told Third Sector: "Soldiers' stories don't easily come across on the page or in photos - footage brings them to life for our supporters." Meanwhile, Yahoo recently reported that it has struck a deal with GroupM Entertainment, which will allow marketers to incorporate their brands into short-form videos that will be shown exclusively in Yahoo's properties. ![]() |
