Interactive video network Smartclip has struck a new advertising deal with streaming video search engine Blinkx. The company announced that the deal is aimed helping Blinkx to monetise its streaming video content across its portfolio of websites in western Europe. Federico Grosso, senior vice-president of business development at Blinkx, said the company is excited to commence a mutually beneficial working relationship with Smartclip because it is a leader in the industry and has a proven track record of success and competence in the European market. Smartclip added the deal is timely because video search engines now play a significant role in the way streaming video content is consumed and connects users to what they want to watch much quicker than traditional search engines. Roland Schaber, co-founder of Smartclip, commented: "We are excited to be partnering with the world's largest and most advanced search engine dedicated to video and look forward to the opportunities we create." Smartclip was established in Germany in 2008 and already has regional bases in the UK, France and Spain. ![]() |
