An upcoming concert by rock band U2 will be streaming live on video sharing site YouTube, the group has announced. The Pasadena Rose Bowl gig in California will be streaming on Sunday November 8th, allowing fans from 16 countries around the world to watch the performance in real-time. U2's manager Paul McGuiness said the stream will be a perfect opportunity to "extend the party beyond the stadium". "Fans often travel long distances to come to see U2 - this time U2 can go to them, globally," he said. Chris Maxcy, director of YouTube partner development, added that the site is thrilled to be able to provide its global audience with a live streaming performance from "one of the world's greatest bands". YouTube will place advertising around the video content as usual and will make clips of the concert available for viewers to watch on the site after the performance ends. The Rose Bowl show is the second to last show U2 will perform this year with more to come in 2010. ![]() |
