Popular video streaming site YouTube has signed a new deal with US Spanish-language broadcaster Univision. Under the partnership, Univision's long-form and short-form video content will be made available on YouTube free of charge. YouTube viewers will be able to enjoy content produced for the TeleFutura and Galavision channels, including special events such as the Latin Music Awards. As part of the non-exclusive deal, both YouTube and Univision will share advertising revenue generated from the streaming content. Kevin Conroy, president of Univision Interactive Media, said the deal represents the first time any of the firm's content will be made available on the internet outside its properties. "This partnership uniquely extends our reach to our audience and solidifies our position as the leading Spanish-language video provider for US Hispanics with unparalleled programming in all respects," he commented. Univision is the most watched Spanish-language broadcast television network in the US and reaches around 95 per cent of households in the country. ![]() |
