Businesses can drive more traffic to their websites by using optimised streaming video content, an expert has advised. Rachel Hawkes, account director at consultancy Elemental, said video content is a great way for firms to boost their search engine optimisation performance (SEO) and creating multimedia content is becoming increasingly easy to do. She advised firms to feature video content throughout a website but make sure it stems from a centralised source to make back-to-back viewing easier. "Any business looking to adopt video into their marketing portfolio should make it standard practice to show text descriptions next to the videos," Ms Hawkes said. "Text and video will seed well into search engines, providing businesses with really effective content to help drive SEO." Recently released EIAA research shows that 83 per cent of marketers increased their online advertising spend during 2009, while 94 per cent plan to increase their ad spend in 2010. ![]() |
