Online streaming videos are becoming so ubiquitous that they are likely to replace product demonstrations altogether in the near future, according to Wistia. The video company said instead of in-person demos, firms will be increasingly relying on video demos, as this will keep their salesforces available to focus on emerging opportunities. Wista explained that giving prospects the opportunity to watch product demos whenever they want allows them to become better informed in less time and removes the need to schedule a time to "walk through the same canned demo". Wista pointed out that customer testimonials and in-person training will also be increasingly transmitted to streaming video format. "Today, we're seeing people in the same company, sometimes even the same office opting to educate each other using video instead of meeting in person," the company said. "Using online video to educate means that there's no travel to schedule, venue to book, or documents to print out." David Hallerman, senior analyst at eMarketer, recently said online streaming ads are set to grow in popularity next year. ![]() |
