A fundraising initiative at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show is set to be streamed live to millions of viewers across the world. The 13th annual Build Your Own PC Race for Charity in Las Vegas will see a number of technology professionals race to build a state-of-the-art computer and will be streamed from the Charity PC Race homepage. Employees from a number of firms including Microsoft, Sony, Intel and Systemax will participate in the charitable endeavour in the hope of bagging the $10,000 (£6,196) top prize, which will be donated to the charity of their choice. Gilbert Fiorentino, Systemax technology products group chief executive, said: "We are proud to continue this long tradition of giving back to organisations nationwide. "With 13 years under our belt, the race continues to be an important part of our company and we look forward to many more in the future." UK-based firm The Legal Deeds Poll recently became of the one latest companies to use streaming media technology as part of a high-profile marketing campaign. ![]() |
