Streaming media will play a role in consumers' New Year resolutions, a new survey reveals.
According to a study carried out by Performics, almost half (48 per cent) of respondents said they plan to use the internet to research ways in which they can accomplish their resolutions. The Online Buyer Economic Trend Study found that over a third (36 per cent) of consumers will use the internet to buy items to stick to their resolutions, while 29 per cent said they will use the internet to track their progress. Michael Kahn, senior vice-president of marketing at Performics, said younger consumers are more likely to use the web compared to their older counterparts. "Nearly one third (29 per cent) of respondents plan to use the internet to track the progress they're making with their resolutions," he said. "Interestingly, this activity specifically appealed to the younger population, where 44 per cent of those in Generations X and Y (18 to 44) are likely to track progress online, compared to only 20 percent of those ages 45 and older." ![]() |
