An increasing number of consumers are engaging with streaming video content, a new survey reveals.
According to a poll conducted by Motorola, 50 per cent of people in Britain regularly stream internet video content, while a third watch on-demand TV content online. The survey, which questioned 3,500 people in the UK, France, Spain, Sweden and Germany, found that almost half of Swedes would prefer to watch streaming video content online than live TV. Over three-quarters (87 per cent) of Brits said that they regularly share content such as video clips and images with friends and family while they are on the move. Steve McCaffery, vice-president of Motorola's home and networks mobility department, said: "The internet, social networks and smart phones have changed how consumers of all ages engage with content. It's now on their terms." "We must continue to develop solutions and services that make the consumer experience as intuitive, individual and interactive as possible." A recent Nielsen study found that a growing number of consumers would be willing to pay for streaming media. ![]() |
