An expert has pointed out that streaming media advertising is beginning to evolve to incorporate other platforms.
According to Eva Berg-Winters, senior manager and new media specialist at PricewaterhouseCoopers, internet-based advertising and TV platforms are being increasingly used together to great effect. She pointed out that recent research shows that a growing number of marketers are using web-based platforms together with TV in order to take advantage of both mediums. "Online brands want to make the most out of TV and large media companies want to move some of their spend to online," Ms Berg-Winters said. "And with both being such strong advertising channels, it's not surprising that one advertises on the other." Current industry trends suggest that web-based marketing, including streaming video display ads, will continue to evolve and develop into other platforms in the foreseeable future. According to a recent survey by the Direct Marketing Association and ITV, cross-channel marketing campaigns such as email and TV combined, tend to have much higher response rates.
