A new global survey reveals that Australians are among the keenest consumers of online streaming media.
According to the Nielsen 2010 Internet and Technology report, around 41 per cent of web users down under have accessed streaming videos on YouTube and downloaded TV and film content from the internet. The report found that Australian web users are planning to engage with streaming content even more over the coming months. Around 44 per cent of regular online video viewers said they plan to watch more streaming video content this year, while one in three (33 per cent) expect to download more videos. Matt Bruce, spokesman for Nielsen Australia, said: "For some time, the digital industry has been aware of the potential for growth of online video content given its popularity in Australia. What this latest data shows us in the true extent of that popularity." He added that the results show that there is an amazing opportunity for the digital industry to tap into the Australian streaming media market. Live Hosting http://www.groovygecko.com/ ![]() |
