Almost one in three young people in Britain watch as much content online as they do on TV, a new report shows.
A study by YouGov commissioned by RealNetworks found that 29 per cent of people under the age of 45 spend an equal amount of time online and watching TV, with 22 per cent saying they would prefer to be entertained by viral videos than home movies of loved ones. One in four (25 per cent) respondents said they have had difficulty using new technologies and social networks, compared to 54 per cent of people who have had problems with real-world activities. One in ten respondents said they had consumed more than ten minutes of mobile video content in a week. Marili't Hooft-Bolle, of RealNetworks, said: "It's still early days for online video but as each year passes, the quality and breadth of online video content increases dramatically and the tools to access, manage, share and consume the content grow ever more sophisticated." ![]() |
