The new WD TV Live Hub has "ease of installation" and ""effortlessly" provides streaming media services to the home user, it has been claimed.
According to Jon Healey of the Los Angeles Times, the new streaming media device is easy to set up and quickly recognises home networks, making it an ideal solution for those looking to take advantage of streaming media around the home. He noted, however, that one issue presently facing the home streaming media sector is that of copyright, as many movie producers are insisting on complicated digital rights and this can play havoc with compatibility - although Mr Healey noted this issue will no doubt be resolved in the near future. Meanwhile, ubergizmo.com reports the new WD TV Live Hub media centre provides video playback via 1080p HDMI 1.4 and allows users to download streaming media content and save it to watch in the future. In addition, the device is DLNA compliant and can therefore be connected to other media systems to transfer data. ![]() |
