Facebook has launched live video streaming services to its users through a partnership with Livestream.
The move allows users to embed Livestream straight on to their Facebook page, enabling streaming media content to be uploaded and viewed, Information Week reports. "Everything will be recorded and made available in an on-demand library," Livestream said in its blog. Furthermore, YouTube is also planning a rival streaming media app to allow its users to upload live content that it plans to roll out in the near future, the news provider added. It carried out tests on this system in September. Elsewhere, Home Media Magazine recently reported that Ted Sarandos, Netflix's chief content officer, has claimed television content makes up more than 50 per cent of all streaming media downloaded by Netflix users. He added that the company is looking to attract the highest-quality audience possible, but will maintain its commitment to delivering offerings that people want to watch. ![]() |
