| SlingPlayer to provide streaming video for iPad |

Users of Apple's iPad could be about to be treated to additional streaming video content through the launch of the new SlingPlayer app from Sling Media.
The company made the announcement that owners of its Slingbox - a set-top device that allows people to download streaming media content - will be able to synchronise the device with their iPad when the app is launched. Set to retail at $29.99 (£18.84), the app will allow people to remotely view live television content, as well as recorded programmes that have been downloaded and stored on the Slingbox Elsewhere, Home Media Magazine recently reported television content makes up more than 50 per cent of all streaming media downloaded by Netflix users. Ted Sarandos, Netflix's chief content officer, stated that the company is looking to attract the highest-quality audience possible, but will maintain its commitment to delivering offerings that people want to watch. ![]() |
