Newspaper content has become the most downloaded type of streaming media during the last quarter, new figures have shown.
Research carried out by Brightcove and TubeMogul revealed that newspaper sites witnessed a 51 per cent rise in demand for their streaming media content during the last quarter of 2010, with 313 million minutes streamed during the three months, New Media Age reports. This pushed broadcaster content into second place with 290 million minutes, while overall there was a 188 per cent increase in the total amount of streaming media content uploaded during the quarter in a year-on-year comparison to 2009. Meanwhile, Gerry McLaughlin of ITContractor.com recently said that positive attitude is being felt across the IT sector for the coming 12 months and streaming media is no exception. He claimed that growing demand for staff will make the IT sector one of the most burgeoning areas for employment in the UK during 2011. Posted by Thomas Price ![]() |
