A new firmware update has been launched by Boxee for its streaming media device - the Boxee Box.
It adds streaming video service Vudu to the boxes for those who download the new update, enabling users to stream online media content direct to their TVs or monitors, with the set-top device being provided in partnership with Iomega TV. Boxee chief executive Avner Ronen stated: "If you have large HD files that are just too much for your wi-fi network to handle, then having them stored locally is a perfect solution." Meanwhile, Home Entertainment recently reported that Warpia has unveiled its new StreamHD device for home streaming media users. It enables users to transfer files direct from laptops or PCs to HD TVs and is now available for $169.99 (£107.27). It is capable of 5.1 surround-sound audio and allows users to send two streams at the same time. Posted by Geoff Phillipps ![]() |
