Hulu Plus has finally been released for TiVo owners in the US, it has been revealed.
The streaming video service was due to be released in September last year, but setbacks meant that the release date had to be pushed back time and again, CNET News reports. However, the product has now been officially released and joins the likes of Blockbuster, Amazon Instant Video, Netflix and YouTube in offering streaming media services to TiVo users. According to the publication, the new Hulu Plus takes approximately 30 seconds to buffer the incoming video stream, meaning users can watch streaming video in the comfort of their own homes in no time at all. Elsewhere, Netflix was recently named King of the Internet in the US after it was revealed that the streaming media supplier uses the most bandwidth out of any company - accounting for 29.7 per cent of all downloaded information - in any given hour in North America. "If it wasn't Netflix, it would have been Amazon. And if it wasn't Amazon it would have been Google," commented Colin Gillis, senior technology analyst with BGC Partners in New York.
