Orb Networks has announced the launch of a new streaming video product for PS3 users that will give them access to streaming TV and on-demand content.
Orb BR enables users to stream content either from the internet or any connected technology, such as their PC or smartphone. It is to be available for a monthly fee from the company, with Orb BR offering online television and movies courtesy of Hulu, Netflix, YouTube and other sources. The system does not require the installation of any new software, meaning users can simply plug in and watch their favourite video content via their PS3 consoles. Meanwhile, Winrumours recently forecast that Microsoft will be unveiling its own streaming video solution at the E3 gaming conference. Microsoft's new Diamond for Xbox Live will be a streaming video service that will be available to gamers and although the project is likely to be unveiled this month, it is not to go live for users until at least November.
