A new batch of streaming applications has arrived for the Xbox 360's online service Xbox Live, introducing YouTube access to the console for the first time.
The Google-owned streaming giant is one of four new video entertainment apps introduced for Xbox Live in the UK this week, with Blinkbox, Muzu.TV and MSN also being added to the system's new-look dashboard. As with the previous batch of video applications, the new software will be compatible with the Kinect motion sensor for gesture-based navigation and voice command options. Other online video services being introduced worldwide this week include Verizon FiOS TV and TMZ in North America, as well as SBS On Demand in Australia. A Microsoft statement said: "Xbox 360 is building on its expansive catalogue of movies, sports, television and music and we're happy to offer the following new entertainment experiences starting today in various regions on Xbox Live." Other new streaming services introduced earlier this month include LOVEFiLM, while content from the BBC and 4 On Demand will also be on the way soon. Posted by Thomas Price ![]() |
