BT has announced that its hybrid internet TV service BT Vision has added 39,000 more subscribers during the fourth and final quarter of 2011.
Figures from the telecom company's latest financial report show that the subscriber base for the streaming service now stands at 679,000, having been originally introduced in 2006. BT also noted that the growing success of its broadband and BT Vision offerings have helped to increase its average revenue per user figure by five per cent to £337. Combining traditional broadcast services with streaming services, BT Vision provides users with access to various Freeview, cable and satellite channels, as well as a wide array of on-demand movies. Earlier this week, it was announced that BT has signed a new agreement with Miramax to deliver a range of new content for the service, including Chicago, Pulp Fiction, The Aviator and Scream. It is estimated that BT Vision users watch two million films on demand every month. Posted by Thomas Price ![]() |
