ITN has signed a new deal with Midland News Association (MNA) to launch a new online streaming video service. The service will provide news, sport and entertainment and marks the first time a regional newspaper publisher has struck such a deal with ITN. ITN will provide around 200 clips every week to MNA's Expressandstar.com and Shropshirestar.com websites. Content will include both UK and international news, along with money and showbiz. News content will be produced by ITN's multimedia division ITV On, while advertising on the service will be sold by video search company Blinkx. John Hardie, chief executive of ITN, said: "[The deal] shows in practice how a national TV news provider can work with regional and local news suppliers allowing them to enhance their online output." Television marketing organisation Thinkbox recently said that TV and web work together well for online advertising. ![]() |
