Streaming media is becoming increasingly important to how consumers engage with environmentally-friendly products.
According to a survey conducted by Burst Media, many consumers believe the internet is the best way to research green issues. Almost four in ten (39 per cent) consumers said they prefer to search the web for information on eco-friendly goods and practices, followed by 18 per cent for TV and seven per cent for magazines. The most popular research topic is alternative energy and green technologies among men and recycling, natural remedies and simple living among women. Chuck Moran, chief marketing officer for Burst Media, said: "Green consumers are turning to the internet; this poses an incredible opportunity for advertisers who are marketing green products online." A recent study by Performics found that the internet will play an important role in the New Year's resolution of almost half (48 per cent) of consumers questioned. ![]() |
