A new streaming video aggregation service that converges content from a selection of UK broadcasters has been launched.
SeeSaw has content partnerships with Channel 4, Five, BBC Worldwide and a host of other independent UK production companies and allows users to choose from over 3,000 hours of TV content from these broadcasters. The service, which is owned by transmission company Arqiva, has already been trialled by 20,000 people during its beta phase. Pierre-Jean Sebert, chief executive of SeeSaw, told the Telegraph: "We estimate that there are two and half million people in the UK regularly watching TV via video on demand services such as the BBC iPlayer. "We are initially targeting this group via an online advertising campaign and then moving our marketing efforts onto TV." SeeSaw is still waiting to secure a crucial deal with ITV because the company has halted all negotiations as part of a ten-week strategic review implemented by new chairman Archie Norman.
