MSN has announced the official launch of its on-demand streaming video service.
The MSN Video player is free of charge and allows viewers to watch a wide range of full-length British TV programmes. Since the pilot was launched in August 2009, the MSN Video Player has made more than 1,000 hours worth of streaming content available to users. The new service includes a number of new titles such as the Secret Millionaire, Embarrassing Bodies, Waterloo Road, Doc Martin, Wife Swap, Bad Girls and Skins. Ashley Highfield, managing director of consumer and online at Microsoft UK, said the player has been developed with rapidly changing consumer habits in mind. "The continuing rise in demand for online professionally produced video has enabled MSN to launch a service that has strong appeal to our users and advertisers," he said. Mr Highfield highlighted recent figures from comScore, which show that the average viewer spends 25 minutes on the MSN Video Player per month. ![]() |
