International news agency Thompson Reuters has launched a new online video streaming website, it has been announced.
The platform, named Reuters Insider, is largely unavailable to the public but will deliver up to 3,000 specialist streaming videos per week to subscribers. Streaming video content from 150 of its content partners including CNBC will also be made available to Thompson Reuters customers, who will have to pay around $2,000 (£1,346) a year from content. The company said it will also introduce an iPhone and iPad app, which will give non-subscribers access to a limited version of Thompson Reuters videos. Mike Stepanovich, managing editor of Project Insider, told paidContent that Reuters will produce its own short live webcasts, which will be on video on-demand 30 seconds after the original airing. "We have a very specialised audience- they're focusing on foreign exchange, they're focusing on the energy markets," he said. "With Insider, we're able to give our subscribers exactly what they want, when they want it." ![]() |
