A new survey has found that most people moving to the countryside view a broadband connection as essential.
A poll conducted by County Homesearch found that those moving into rural areas view broadband connection as a necessity, not a luxury and are primarily concerned with the level of service they can expect to receive from their internet service providers. The report found that with more people running their businesses from remote locations and working from home, stable broadband connections are more important than ever before and homes with no or limited internet access are typically seen as undesirable. Jonathan Hawad, chairman of County Homesearch, said: "Some sections of the country are virtually broadband free or very patchy and this undoubtedly puts people off who want to either keep in touch with their businesses or who want to run a company from their home." The Fiber to the Home (FTTH) Council recently called on the government to roll out 100Mbps internet services as soon as possible so Britain is not left behind in the digital revolution. ![]() |
