Video streaming website YouTube has launched a new online video editor to enable users to tweak their content before uploading it onto the site.
The new tool allows users to "mash" together various existing videos to create longer content and trim the beginning or end of videos to make them shorter. Users will also be able to add soundtracks to video content using the editor, which uses one-click publishing for maximum ease. Writing in an official YouTube blog post, Rushabh Doshi, a Google software engineer and Joshua Siegel, a Google product manager, said the editor is most useful for merging single short clips into a longer video. "For example, you can transform clips from your vacation in to a video travel diary set to music, or create a highlights reel from footage of your last basketball game," they commented. Google, which owns YouTube, has made the editor available through the TestTube section of the video sharing site. ![]() |
