More than three-quarters of people have experienced problems with their mobile broadband, a new survey shows.
According to a poll conducted by YouGov and Acision, 84 per cent of people have had to contend with quality of service challenges including connection loss (40 per cent), inability to get connected to the internet (45 per cent), poor network coverage (49 per cent) and slow speeds (67 per cent). The survey shows that quality issues are impeding the ability of web users to stream video content seamlessly on their mobile devices. Around 36 per cent of people said they access video content via their mobile phones. Three-quarters (74 per cent) of respondents said they would support a new approach aimed at distributing bandwidth between as many people as possible to ease congestion. Half (49 per cent) of those questioned said they would even be happy to pay a small fee to obtain a better broadband service. Steven van Zanen, senior vice-president of mobile broadband marketing at Acision, said: "Our research indicates that while more needs to be done to raise customer satisfaction levels in mobile broadband services, there is broad consumer support to deploy capabilities to define fairness for all users." ![]() |
