Yahoo has announced the launch of its Barclays Premier League online streaming service.
The service is part of a three-season multi-million pound deal and will allow viewers to watch five minute long highlights of clips of top-flight games from 2010 to 2013. Matches that take place on weekends will go online after midnight on Monday morning, while midweek games will be available for viewing just after midnight the following day. Viewers will be able to see a wide range of snippets including Best Goals, Best Saves, Tactical Debate and Team of the Week. Users will also be able to share links to highlights via social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. So far, Yahoo has attracted streaming video advertising from firms such as Adidas, Heineken, BT and Sony Pictures, the company said. Mark Rabe, managing director of Yahoo UK, commented: "Following on from the success of Yahoo's World Cup activity with David Beckham, our ambition for Barclays Premier League coverage is for Yahoo to become your home for football online - whether you're a user or an advertiser." ![]() |
