Scandinavian digital media firm Aspiro has announced almost a two-thirds increase in its streaming audio sales in the last quarter.
The company saw its streaming media content sales boosted by 65 per cent and claimed the disposal of its former business segment Mobile Entertainment, along with its entry into the iPhone app market, were key catalysts to this growth. Aspiro chief executive officer Gunnar Sellaeg said: "Music sales have doubled and we're noting continued very brisk progress, especially in streaming services." He added that it is now clear the firm is a "growth company". Meanwhile, Virgin Media and online music provider Spotify recently announced a partnership for the delivery of streaming audio to UK consumers. The internet service provider is keen to offer downloadable music to its customers and, having failed to launch its own music service provider last year, the firm now looks likely to tie up a deal with Spotify to do just that. ![]() |
